Dear Compatriots, Stop over relying on Government.
Dear Compatriots, Stop over relying on Government. All you'll get is additional disappointment.
I read a piece about a 23 year old that fabricates mechanised farming tools from scrap materials and used motorcycle engines. This is amazing. I felt let down when he said he wants the government to help him further his education in engineering so he can build better machines for farming.
I've been seeing similar stories since when I was in primary school. None of these inventors had success (to my knowledge) with their prospects. The mistake they're making is all the same. They are setting their future on a government that cares less about them. If a government is finding it difficult to provide basic amenities like clean water, electricity, healthcare, you think supporting you will be its priority?
It's not all of us that have the privilege of having influential people in our families. But if you have talent, people would want to invest in you. What you need is to sell yourself. There's always someone willing to support you. It doesn't have to be the government.
With this age of social media, you have everything that you need.
Build your idea.
Patent it if you can.
Post it on your social media page.
Invite people to invest in your invention.
In no time people will be rushing for you.
But if you decide to sit and wait for government, then I'm sorry to say that's where your story ends.
All the best in your future endeavours.
P.S. This goes the same with everything else. Stop waiting for government to fix the potholes in your streets or clear your drainage systems. All you need to do is write to the relevant authorities of your intentions then go ahead and do yourself or as a community.
